Alexander Ovechkin: The man of our man's dreams?

Now, you could ask either of us how much we love Montreal's The Stills, and we'd go on and on for a considerable amount of time. If you'd like to test this, simply ask. Each album is a new sound, always better than the last (minus Without Feathers)(It was good but Dave can't sing)(He sang nearly every song on the album)(anyways). They're great to their fans, have songs featured on both television shows and television commercials, and are even the face of John Varvatos for H&M. But, to be completely honest, Tim Fletcher, lead singer of The Stills, is really why we love The Stills. Him and his greasy slicked back hair, and his lovingly blue eyes, and his perfect smile, his slight French accent, and that black denim jacket he always wears. It was just over a week ago that I had a long and lengthy dream that I was Mrs. Fletcher. Too bad I wasn't dreaming of the wedding night (wink wink ha-ha). Little did we know that while we're having not sure pure dreams about him, he's on the other side of Canada dreaming of one of the uglier people in the world, Alexander Ovechkin. I wonder if he dreams his wet dreams in French or English...
Anyways, Timmy Fletcher wrote this affectionate, more than a bromance love song about Ovechkin.

What a work of true, original art. Indie at it's best. Out of all the men in the world, Ovechkin? Why not fellow French Canadian Georges St-Pierre, or sexy comedian Daniel Tosh? Who wants to picture Tim Fletcher with anyone, let alone Ovechkin. At least be open about your bromosexual relationship with someone doesn't look like he's had every inch of his body beaten with a anvil (looks are all that matter in life). He just took a breather from recording the new album, and came up with this, and it's actually pretty good! He got the tradition Russian sound down perfect. Dave is probably the one who deserves the credit though.

Enjoy.

Junos 2010, NF.

Well,

One word. Interesting.

So Canadian Musicians celebrated (celebrated Michael Buble really) tonight with the 2010 Juno Awards. The show kicked off with a patriotic, white boy rapping, Canadian, Newfie rap thing by Classified. Then the rest of the show was a complete and utter snooze fest. Way to represent Canada guys. Leah Miller had some work done, she looked very Heidi Montag but Uglified tenfold. BUT, we could say that the 39th Juno Award Show was one of the best ones for one sole reason. No where to be found in Newfoundland, were that those Domestic Abuse Rockers were NO WHERE TO BE SEEN! Aka Nickelback, they didn't even win any awards (gasp!). But we're going to contradict ourselves and say that this years awards show was the worst.

Vancouver 2009 Juno Awards was THE BEST. You had performances by Sam Roberts, The Stills, Great Big Sea with Hawksley Workman, Bryan Adams and Kathleen Edwards, Dallas Green and Gord Downie. Oh and you also had weird plants as the stage, we also had a host who decided to show up. (How many years can they use Russell Peters as their host anyways?)

But, this year K'Naan was K'Naan. <3

Sounds Good.

rip!ysp!wsd!

Devon Clifford (1979-2010)
You Say Party! We Say Die! drummer, Devon Clifford passed away in the hospital with his family and friends around him this morning. After collapsing at the bands show in Vancouver, at the Rickshaw Theatre, on Friday night, Clifford was hospitalized. The cause of his death is unknown at this moment. Devon Clifford lived in Vancouver, and worked at the Portland Hotel Society, which is an organization that helps provide housing to the community of the Downtown East Side. The band was currently wrapping up a US and Western Canada tour, starting their European tour later this month.

This is a formula of inner turmoil. Now the question is, does a band move forward and keep making music after a member dies? Or do they split up? What's the right thing to do here? See, how does a band replace someone who DIES? It's one thing if a member leaves, then it's easy to find a replacement. But then you gotta think about, would that member want the band to keep going and achieve what they've wanted for so long?

Hopefully the Clifford Family and You Say Party! We Say Die! Family get through this tough time gracefully.

Is it ironic that their name is "You Say Party! We Say DIE"   ?????

Peace (You know, like Rest In Peace)

Twin Atlantic.

So I had heard about these guys in conversation before, kinda sparked my interest so took a listen to their album.

Twin Atlantic is a band from Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow being a city that I truly admire and am very interested in from their flourishing music scene now to waaay back in the 1800's with the Glasgow Four. Anyways, so Twin Atlantic. In 2009 they took their musical journey across the Atlantic Ocean from Scotland to Texas and played a few shows and that led them to getting signed on "Red Bull Records", going to LA, and that's where they started recording their album, produced by John Travis whose produced albums for Static-X, Kid Rock, Sugar Ray, and Social Distortion. The album, titled "Vivarium" is their debut album and was released on September 14th, 2009. The lyrics are great, talking about not giving up and Americanization, not just personal stuff a more broad subject matter if you will. They really seem to believe in themselves, so that's good but I would like to express my personal opinion on "Vivarium".

The packaging for their album (it's like a pop up book) is a lot more exciting than their music.

Just not my "cup of tea". Hey, you're into 'The Xcerts' or 'Taking Back Sunday', you'll like 'em. Yeah actually just imagine 'Taking Back Sunday' with a Scottish accent.

Buh-Bye,

if this is how you celebrate in Slovenia, you got issues kid.

Mike Posma, American hockey coach, left Slovenia after his team of young lads won the league's title. But he didn't leave because he was done coaching, he left because, get this, 6 members of his young Arconi Jesenice team BEAT HIM UP WITH WOODEN TRAFFIC SIGNS.

WHAT!?

So this is how it all happened:
The team wins so they go out to celebrate all together, and why the hell not have the coach celebrate with you? Ultimately he had a big roll in the win yeah? So they all get drunk, and Posma I guess was too drunk to drive back so he asked the back up goalie of the team to drive. Back up goalie was also drunk, ends up crashing the car and in rage those 6 members grabbed those street signs and started kicking his ass. (Maybe they had a little too much tequila? Or is it just me that gets aggressive with it?) So apparently now Posma has ceased all contracts with the time, and rightfully so! Those 6 team members have been let go from the hockey club.

That is the funniest and the most stupid thing I have ever heard, I actually didn't believe this when I heard about it and did a lot of research on it. And now I can clarify that this is ACTUAL NEWS.

God dammit Slovenian hockey players. Don't come to the NHL okay?

Speaking of hockey, the Canucks play their last game of the regular season tomorrow against the Calgary Flames. Then you know what time it is, playoffs! Ya'll ready!? If you ask me, I got my Canucks flag on my car all waving and stuff <3

Buh-Bye.

Excuse Me, Fergie?

Fergie,

I will say this now, I never gave Fergie the time of day (just because I really don't enjoy the Black Eyed Peas' music anymore), that is until I listened to the new Slash album (which is available now, go buy it). Well, Fergie has sung herself into my heart (even though she sounds like Axel Rose on "Paradise City" on Slash's album which also features Cypress Hill). So I say this to you Ferg: Please leave the Black Eyed Peas and venture on to do collaborations with Slash because you're so much better off. Will.I.Am ruins your flow, and I cannot stand him for the life of me. The links below are proof that she's actually got some kind of talent.

Performing "Sweet Child of Mine" at Slash's Birthday Party.

Oh Fergilicious.
